Ideal Conditions

The sun was shining, the wind was a nice north easterly breeze and the temperature was a nice warm 30º C. Basically, a perfect day to be kayak fishing on the St. Lawrence River.  My friend Mike came in all the way from Halifax and we finally got a chance to meet up to go fishing. He's an experienced fisherman and while he's done his fair share of canoe fishing, today was his first time kayak fishing. The was fishing was decent. There was not a lot of action compared to when we fish at dusk, but we still got a couple of smallmouth bass each and got to enjoy a beautiful sunny day on the water.
