Victoria Day Weekend Fishing (and a giant carp!)

Went up to Mississippi Lake for the May 2-4 long weekend and got a bit of fishing done after putting in dad's dock and boat lift.

Nice sized pike (esox lucius). Caught him at the end of a small creek.

A nice smallmouth bass (micropterus dolomieu) caught in a bay usually filled with largemouth bass.
Dolly accompanied us fishing.
A nice Mississippi Lake largemouth bass (micropterus salmoides)

Largemouth Bass (micropterus salmoides), poor little guy looked beat up.

Meanwhile, back in Montreal, Ryan caught a massive carp! Way to go Ryan!

Damn! Check out this huge carp (cyprinus carpio)!
The Common Carp is a non-native, invasive species in the St. Lawrence.
Ryan measured it at 33 inches!
Caught it on a simple hook and sinker with a worm as bait.
This small hagfish (myxine glutinosa) was attached to the body of the carp.
